Apple has been reportedly working on an Augmented Reality powered glass, but in an unexpected turn of events, the company seems to have ditched its dream of making Meta’s Ray-Ban like smartglasses.
The news comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who in his latest newsletter said that Apple has cancelled the project citing performance issues. Codenamed N107, Apple’s AR glass was rumoured to resemble normal glasses and come with a built-in display and could be connected to iPhones.
The tech giant had also considered letting users connect the AR glass to a Mac, but it looks like both the iPhone and Mac chipsets weren’t powerful enough.
The report claims that the N107 came with advanced projectors that displayed information, images and video in each eye with the lenses being able to change the tint depending on what the user is doing.
