Anna univ student’s body found in Cooum

Chennai: The body of an Anna University student who jumped into river Cooum from Napier Bridge on Kamarajar Salai on Tuesday night was recovered in the estuary on Wednesday.Police said a two-wheeler rider witnessed Yuvasri Dhananjayan, 25, a second-year MBA student, jumping from the bridge and alerted a police constable on duty. The Anna Square police went to the spot and began a search. They found Yuvasri’s bag, containing her mobile phone, Anna University identity card and a notebook. The notebook had a letter saying no one was responsible for her death and included an apology to her parents and sister.Fire and rescue services personnel searched the Cooum at night, but suspended operations. The operation resumed on Wednesday morning, and Yuvasri’s body was found washed ashore near the river mouth. The body was sent for post-mortem.
