According to The New York Post, Amazon is ending its Prime-exclusive “Try Before You Buy” service, which allowed members to have certain apparel items shipping to their door to try on before completing the purchase. If the customer wasn’t satisfied with the item, it could be returned at no cost.

The final day Prime members can take advantage of “Try Before You Buy” will be Jan. 31, per The Post.

In a statement, an Amazon spokesperson called the service’s reach limited, adding that more users were beginning to take advantage of its AI-driven sizing recommendations, the publication reported.

“Given the combination of Try Before You Buy only scaling to a limited number of items and customers increasingly using our new AI-powered features like virtual try-on, personalized size recommendations, review highlights, and improved size charts to make sure they find the right fit, we’re phasing out the Try Before You Buy option,” the Amazon spokesperson said, according to The Post.

Amazon first began testing “Try Before You Buy” in 2017 and officially launched the service to members in 2018.
