Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini has said artificial intelligence (AI) is playing a crucial role in realising the vision of “Vocal for Local” and “Make in India“. He called “Glocal AI – Real Impact” not merely a theme, but the need of the hour, where global thinking must be effectively aligned with local requirements. The chief minister was addressing the TiE AI Summit–2026 organised in Chandigarh on Saturday evening. Saini said AI is no longer just a technology, but has become an integral part of healthcare, education, agriculture, industry and governance systems. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is playing a leading role globally in AI research, innovation and responsible policymaking,” Sani said. He said that AI is making disease diagnosis and treatment more accurate in healthcare, strengthening personalised learning in education, and helping farmers increase productivity, access better markets and add value in agriculture. Small and medium enterprises are enhancing their efficiency through AI and gaining competitive opportunities in global markets. The chief minister said that a proposal was made to establish the “Haryana AI Mission” to promote AI in the state, for which the World Bank assured assistance of Rs 470 crore.
