‘AI-based research is crucial for pharma sector’

Gorakhpur: Emphasising the growing role of technology in healthcare, GN Singh, scientific advisor to the Uttar Pradesh chief minister and former Drugs Controller General of India, said that artificial intelligence-driven research has become essential for the pharmaceutical sector.Singh was addressing an international conference on ‘Digital Health, AI and Smart Pharma for Viksit Uttar Pradesh – Pharma FutureX 2026′, organised by the faculty of pharmaceutical sciences at Mahayogi Gorakhnath University on Friday. “The rapid integration of digital and AI tools in healthcare and medicine has made it imperative for the pharma industry to align with smart technologies,” said Singh. He also stressed the need for AI-based drug discovery, improved regulatory mechanisms and innovation in pharmaceutical research.Vice-chancellor of Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Ayush University, Prof K Ramachandra Reddy, mentioned that adopting time-relevant technologies is key to innovation. He noted that artificial intelligence is increasingly influencing the health sector.
