Ahmedabad: A 35-year-old man filed a police complaint after his cousin, Kishan Vachheta, died in a hit-and-run crash on the Balolnagar bridge. Kishan’s wife, Komal, remains hospitalized. According to the complaint filed by Chetan Vachheta, the couple were travelling on a two-wheeler from Balolnagar via New Ranip towards Chandkheda late Friday when a speeding four-wheeler hit them from behind and fled.An unknown caller later contacted Chetan from Kishan’s mobile phone to report the crash. Police said the impact threw Kishan off the bridge, causing severe head and body injuries. Komal suffered injuries to her waist and other parts of the body. Both were taken to Civil Hospital by 108 ambulance services.
Doctors declared Kishan dead in the early hours of Saturday, the complaint stated. The couple have a five-year-old son. The L-division traffic police registered a case and are searching for the unidentified driver. A case has been filed for rash driving and endangering life and personal safety under BNS Sections 281, 125(A), 125(B), 106(1), 324(2), along with relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
