Ahmedabad: An SUV valued at around Rs 10 lakh was stolen from the basement parking of a commercial complex near Mahalaxmi crossroads in Paldi. A complaint was filed at Paldi police station on Monday.According to the FIR, Girirajsinh Zala, 29, a lawyer and resident of Vasna, bought the vehicle in 2023 in his father’s name. He used to park the vehicle in the basement of a commercial complex in Paldi. Zala stated that he parked and locked the SUV on the evening of Feb 4 before leaving the premises.In the early hours of Saturday, around 12.45 am, the security guard at the complex called him to ask whether he had taken the vehicle out, as it was no longer at the parking spot. Zala and his father immediately rushed to the location but failed to trace the vehicle despite checking the surrounding areas.Police said CCTV footage from the complex and nearby roads is being scanned to identify the suspect and establish the sequence of events. A theft case was registered against an unknown person, and further investigation is underway.
