Ahmedabad: A 24-year-old man died in a road accident on Vatva GIDC Road in Ahmedabad after his speeding sedan reportedly went out of control and hit a roadside tree, police said. A video of the wreckage went viral following the crash. Police said the impact of the crash was severe and the driver died on the spot.The victim, a Gandhinagar resident employed with a private company, was travelling to Barejadi to pick up his wife from her parental home. He had been married for three years. Inspector S N Patel of J Division said the crash occurred on Thursday. The victim’s father refused to file a complaint, saying he did not want his son to be named as an accused. Police said no case of rash driving has been registered so far. Preliminary information indicates the driver lost control of the steering, causing the car to veer off the road and strike a tree. The vehicle sustained extensive damage to the front and side.
