Ahmedabad: Rs 1.5L, documents stolen from parked car in Thaltej

Ahmedabad: A Chandkheda resident on Tuesday filed a complaint with Vastrapur police, alleging that Rs 1.50 lakh in cash and personal documents were stolen from his parked car near Thaltej crossroads. The complainant, a furniture trader, said the incident occurred on Tuesday evening. According to the FIR, the trader drove his car to the Titanium Square building near Thaltej crossroads for work around 5pm. He parked the vehicle on the service road footpath near a two-wheeler showroom and went inside a building, leaving a bag on the car’s rear seat.Around 10pm, he returned to the parking area, sat in the driver’s seat, and started the car. He felt cold air entering the vehicle and, on checking, found the left rear door window smashed. The cream-coloured bag he had left on the rear seat floor was missing.The bag contained Rs 1.50 lakh in cash, his driving licence, Aadhaar card, and debit and credit cards. He immediately alerted police, after which a team of cops reached the spot. Lakhtaria later filed a complaint at Vastrapur police station.
