Ahmedabad: Illegal constructions removed from Vadu lake in Chandkheda’

Ahmedabad: The estate TDO department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s West Zone demolished illegal constructions from Vadu Lake in Chandkheda on Tuesday. This included the demolition of nine cattle sheds, 16 semi-permanent residential houses, and one religious structure. The lake covers an area of 43,200 square metres, where these illegal constructions were removed. Additionally, in Vejalpur’s Ropda Lake, four residential houses and four religious structures that were illegally built were demolished.

In the North West Zone, the estate TDO department opened a 30-m wide road in the Ghatlodia ward by demolishing four shops and three houses on Tuesday. To clear a reserved plot in TP Scheme No. 29 of Gota, three temporary sheds were demolished.Furthermore, in the Thaltej ward, 40 houses allocated to beneficiaries in the Shivalay Heights LIG scheme were inspected on Tuesday. One house was sealed as it was rented out, and 16 houses were issued notices. One house received a show-cause notice, and 22 houses were found locked. In Thaltej, a construction site causing air pollution was fined Rs 25,000.
