Afghan PhD scholar found dead

Vadodara: The body of a student from Afghanistan was found in his room in the city late on Saturday night. The 34-year-old student, identified as Bainullah Ziya, was pursuing a PhD in the architecture department at MS University, and was staying in a residential apartment in Fatehgunj.

The police said his body was sent for post-mortem, but the deceased may have committed suicide. The reasons for the alleged suicide, however, are yet to be ascertained. The Sayajigunj police said they are scanning the mobile phone of the deceased to gather some clues about the incident.Ziya had been in the city for the last two years. His friends said they knocked on the door of his house on Saturday, but when he did not respond, they informed the police. When the cops opened the door, they found Ziya’s body lying in his room.
