Kanpur: A man as arrested for allegedly killing his father in Etawah. The charred body of his father, Munna Lal (78), was found in a tubewell room in a field in Niloi village under the Jaswantnagar police station area in Etawah on Jan 27. During police investigation it was found that Munna’s son Gajraj Singh had killed him and tried to pass it off as an accident.On Jan 27 Gajraj had filed a case against unidentified people for his father’s murder. He told the police that after seeing smoke coming from the room he opened it and found his father’s charred body lying inside. The lower part of the body was completely burnt. A bloodstained stick and some bloodstains were also found at the spot. During the investigation it was found that Gajraj was unemployed and alcoholic, and he was in debt to several people. He tried to sell his father’s land to pay off his debt, but Munna Lal refused due to which they often had arguments, said police.During interrogation Gajraj said that on the night of Jan 26 and 27 he , attacked his father with a stick and killed him. He then placed the body on the bed, placed a sack and quilt on top, and set it on fire to make it appear as an accident.SSP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava stated that police have arrested Gajraj Singh from Niloi village on Wednesdayand registered a case including murder and other sections, and sent him to jail. tnn
