Bhu Bharati pushed revenue system into chaos: Harish Rao

Hyderabad: Former minister T Harish Rao on Thursday alleged that the Congress govt has thrown the revenue administration into disarray under the guise of introducing Bhu Bharati, resulting in corruption, delays and harassment of farmers and landowners. During a visit to Siddipet urban mandal revenue office, he interacted with applicants who said they had been waiting for months for resolution of land-related issues. He claimed people were now forced to run from office to office for services that were delivered smoothly during the BRS regime. Harish Rao said over 8.68 lakh applications were received statewide during revenue grievance meetings after Bhu Bharati was launched, but even after 10 months the govt had not disclosed how many were resolved or digitised. “There is no accountability. It is as if these applications were dumped into a dustbin,” he said. He accused the govt of stalling ‘Sada Bainama’ regularisation, expanding prohibited land lists without transparency and worsening delays after replacing the Dharani portal, demanding an immediate review and corrective action.
