New Delhi: A 47-year-old man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 3-year-old girl in Wazirpur Industrial Area of northwest Delhi. A PCR call was received around 11pm on Sunday at the Ashok Vihar police station regarding the alleged kidnapping by a bike-borne man. A case was registered under Section 137 (kidnapping) of the BNS. After analysing the CCTV footage from adjoining streets and industrial units in the WPIA area, police identified the accused as Amit, who was employed at a metal factory in the area. In the footage, Amit was seen kidnapping the girl and taking her on his bike. His contact number was taken from the factory and put in live tracing, police said. “Following his location took our team to an abandoned park near the Budh Vihar police station. He was found there with the child,” a senior officer said. The accused was arrested and his motorcycle was seized. The girl has been reunited with her family.
