Kolkata: Two persons were injured in a clash that broke out after water balloons were hurled at unsuspecting passers-by and traders in the Posta region on Tuesday.Hariom Upadhyay, 20, a resident of Radha Madhav Shah Lane, filed an FIR against Sahil Mali of Sikderpara Lane and two others, who allegedly assaulted the complainant at Raja Brajendra Street in Posta around 10 pm on Monday. The dispute, police said, arose after the victim protested against the throwing of balloons filled with coloured water towards him when he was crossing the road. Upadhyay alleged that he was punched in the face and nose and was also struck with a metal bangle.Police have registered a case under sections 126(2), 115(2), 118(1) and 54 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Officers said efforts were on to identify the two unknown accused mentioned in the complaint and to verify the sequence of events through local inquiry. Police are also checking for possible witnesses in the area and any available CCTV footage from nearby establishments to corroborate the allegations.Police said they were monitoring the situation to prevent further skirmishes. tnn
