PWD plans repair and safety works on Maharaja Agrasen Marg & Madanpur Khadar Road

New Delhi: Public Works Department has planned a series of repair and safety works on Maharaja Agrasen Marg and Madanpur Khadar road to improve pedestrian infrastructure and traffic safety. Both the stretches are located in southeast Delhi. While Maharaja Agrasen Marg runs through Kalkaji and Govindpuri, Madanpur Khadar road lies near Sarita Vihar and Jasola, linking village and residential pockets to Mathura Road and Delhi-Noida corridor. The works include the installation of speed breakers and repair of damaged footpaths and berm areas. These repairs include relaying concrete, paver blocks and stone flooring at various locations along the two stretches. The focus is on restoring broken edges, uneven surfaces and worn-out pedestrian sections that currently pose inconvenience and safety risks. The department will spend approximately Rs 80.8 lakh on the project. In addition to civil repairs, several road safety features will be installed. Glow studs will be fixed along the carriageway, and temporary barricading will also be erected at the site during the execution of the work to ensure safety.Factory-made chamfered-edge concrete paver blocks will be laid in footpaths, parks, lawns, driveways and light traffic parking areas wherever required. The plan also includes applying thick retro-reflective road marking strips to improve lane discipline and visibility, particularly during low-light conditions.
