Centre to help hiring of skilled workers in Greater Noida

Noida: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) started a Shramik Suvidha Kendra (Labour Facilitation Centre) in Ecotech-3 to facilitate the hiring of skilled workers by industrial units. At the centre, skilled workers will register themselves, while factory operators can visit and hire workers as per their requirements. Officials said the facility aimed to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers. “Skilled workers are essential for running industries, and labourers need employment. This centre will fulfil both needs,” said Dadri MLA Tejpal Nagar while inaugurating the facility. This is Greater Noida’s first such centre. It was constructed near the water tank at Udyog Kendra-II in Sector Ecotech-3 by the Project Department’s Work Circle-3. The facility was developed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh and completed in 4 months. It has rooms for skilled workers, both men and women, along with toilets and a kitchen. Additional CEO Sumit Yadav said skilled workers seeking employment will visit the centre. “2 registers will be maintained at the centre – 1 containing the names and contact numbers of labourers, and the other detailing the requirements of entrepreneurs, including the nature of work and the number of workers needed, enabling entrepreneurs to hire workers as per their requirements,” he said. The Industrial Business Association (IBA) will operate the centre and disseminate information among workers. Amit Upadhyaya, president IBA, said the facility will streamline hiring by bringing skilled workers and employers to a common platform. “It will reduce the time and cost involved in recruitment, ensure verified worker records, improve transparency, and generate steady employment opportunities while helping industries quickly meet their workforce requirements in Greater Noida,” he said.
