Kanpur: A man and his 13-year-old daughter were found dead on Kanpur-Lucknow railway track near Sahjani railway crossing in Shuklaganj under Gangaghat police station late Monday. Police also found an abandoned car about 100 metres from the site.The deceased — Vikas Gupta and his daughter Vedika — hailed from Kalyanpur in Kanpur and were living in Sahjani.RPF in-charge Surjeet Singh and GRP Gangaghat station in-charge Lokendra Singh said that it appears to be a case of suicide but investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the deaths. Police said his wife told them that she went to her parents’ place after a fight with her in-laws, when the incident took place. The incident left Tejas Express stuck at Sahjani railway crossing for roughly 30 minutes, while Gomti Express was delayed at Gangaghat station for about 15 minutes due to bodies on the tracks.
