Gorakhpur: Celebrations turned into mourning in the PP Ganj area of Gorakhpur after a 21-year-old woman died under suspicious circumstances just two days after her wedding. The deceased, Seema, married Manoj, a resident of Badhni village under P P Ganj police station limits, on Feb 20. The deceased’s mother filed a complaint of murder on Tuesday. According to police, Seema, the daughter of Kamal Devi of Ratanpur village in Pipraich area, reached her in-laws’ home on Feb 21. The next evening, her family received a call saying she was unwell. She was rushed to BRD Medical College, where she died during treatment. Seema’s parents alleged that when they reached the hospital, her in-laws had fled, leaving the body behind. Seema’s mother accused her husband and his family of harassing her for dowry. Campierganj CO Anurag Singh said cause of death will be ascertained after postmortem report is received. tnn
