Major IPS reshuffle in state; 21 officers transferred, Jodhpur gets new police commissioner

Jaipur: In a significant administrative overhaul, the Rajasthan govt Monday evening transferred 21 IPS officers across the state. The reshuffle includes 2 officers of Additional Director General (ADG) rank, 13 Inspectors General (IG), and several Deputy Inspectors General (DIG), signalling a major reorganisation in the state police leadership.According to the official transfer list, Sharat Kaviraj was appointed as the new Commissioner of Police, Jodhpur. He replaced Om Prakash I, who was posted as Special Commissioner (Operations) in the Jaipur Police Commissionerate.At the ADG level, Hawa Singh Ghumaria, who was serving as ADG (Crime), was transferred as ADG (Headquarters). Vipin Kumar Pandey will take over as the new ADG (Crime). Meanwhile, Praful Kumar was promoted and posted as ADG (Intelligence) after serving as IG (Intelligence).In other key changes, Raghvendra Suhasa, IG of Jaipur Range, was transferred as ADG (Police Training). Rahul Prakash will assume charge as the new IG, Jaipur Range.Among other IG-rank transfers, S Parimala was posted as IG (ACB), while Vikas Kumar will head the Anti-Narcotics Task Force as IG. Ajay Pal Lamba, IG of the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), was transferred to the Special Operations Group (SOG) as IG. Hemant Kumar Sharma will replace him at SCRB.Additionally, Preeti Chandra was appointed IG (Law and Order), Rahul Kotaki as IG (Police Headquarters), and Om Prakash II as IG, Bikaner Range.Further appointments include Rajesh Singh as IG of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Rajendra Goyal as IG, Kota Range, and Kalu Ram Ravat as IG (Civil Rights and Anti-Human Trafficking).The reshuffle is seen as part of the state govt’s ongoing efforts to streamline policing and strengthen law enforcement across Rajasthan.
