Prayagraj: The Prayagraj division emerged as a standout performer at the state-level skill development department competition 2026, clinching top honours in multiple events held at the KD Singh Babu Stadium, Lucknow, from Feb 20 to 22.In the boys’ badminton category, Sahil Raj of govt Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Katra, Prayagraj, defeated his Banaras Division opponent to clinch the title.
Prayagraj also claimed first place in the boys’ 100m race, with a student from govt ITI, Naini, making a podium finish. The division continued its strong showing in team events. Players from govt ITI in Naini and Pratapgarh delivered impressive performances in kabaddi and volleyball, earning runner-up positions in their respective categories. The three-day competition, organised by the training directorate of UP, saw participation from all over the state in events like kabaddi, volleyball, badminton and athletics. The Prayagraj division team competed under the leadership of Virendra Nath, executive director of govt ITI Naini, along with instructors Mahendra Pratap Singh, Mandir Singh and Manjeet Singh. Kabaddi coaches Manish Kumar Singh and Durga Prasad Yadav also guided the players.
