Kanpur: The Lucknow-Bengal pair of AK Sinha and Kingshuk Bhattacharya won the prestigious All-India Sir Padampat Singhania Memorial Invitational Pair Bridge Tournament, which concluded at the Cawnpore Club on Sunday. The pair dominated all three days of the event and ended with 294.06 VPs to emerge as champions and take home the winner’s cheque of Rs 1 lakh.
The West Bengal pair of Prosenjit Manna and Prasun Kumar Mukhopadhyay settled for second place with 286.92 VPs and grabbed the Dr Gaur Hari Singhania Memorial trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 75,000. Gopinath Manna, who won this championship thrice in a row (2022–24) with different partners, could not repeat his performance and finished in 12th place. Air Com PK Narendra, AOC, AFSK, gave away the prizes and trophies to the winners. Kailashpat Singhania Sports Foundation chairman Anil Kumar Agarwal, Bridge Federation of India president Prasad Keni, tournament director VK Sharma and organising secretary Jitendra Awasthi were also present. tnn
