Preliminary assessment suggests the woman was around 50 to 55 years of age. Police said the jewellery she was wearing, including a gold locket, gold earrings and a nose ring, was found intact. Officials noted a deep injury mark on her forehead. However, they said it was too early to determine whether the injury resulted from an accident or any other cause. The little finger and the adjacent finger of her right hand were also found severed, but police believe these injuries appeared old and unrelated to the present incident. Station house officer Sadanand said the exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report is received. Photographs of the deceased are being circulated to nearby police stations, and missing persons records are being examined to establish her identity. Police are investigating all possible angles, including whether the woman belonged to a nearby village or came from another area. MSID:: 128643245 413 |
