Building community trust: Assam Rifles engage with civil society in Manipur; Aim to address security concerns and restore normalcy

Silchar: In an effort to strengthen trust and promote peace in strife-hit Manipur, Prashant Singh Chundawat, Commandant of the Assam Rifles (AR) Srikona Battalion headquartered near Silchar, interacted with members of civil society organisations (CSOs) at Nungba in Tamenglong district of Manipur on Saturday.The meeting was held against the backdrop of continuing ethnic unrest and sporadic violence that has disrupted normal life across several districts of Manipur. Officials said the interaction aimed to address local concerns and foster cooperation between security forces and the community.

Representatives of CSOs raised issues related to security, development, and restoration of normalcy. The commandant assured them that AR remains committed to working closely with the local population to resolve grievances.
