Two home guard jawans found dead in Punjab's Gurdaspur

GURDASPUR: Two policemen were killed in a village under the jurisdiction of Dorangala Police Station in Gurdaspur district.According to initial reports, two Home Guard jawans allegedly opened fire at each other after a scuffle, resulting in their deaths on the spot.Police sources said that the deceased have been identified as Ashok and Gurnam, however their names are yet to be verified.Confirming the incident, superintendent of police Devinder Kumar Chaudhary said, “We are at the spot and investigating.”However, it is still unclear whether the two fired at each other or if someone else shot them. The exact cause of the confrontation and the circumstances leading to the firing are yet to be established. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
