Itanagar: Residents of Sitang village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Siang district on Saturday signed an MoU with the state govt in connection with pre-feasibility report (PFR) activities for Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP). The signing took place in Boleng.According to official reports, 58 households out of 84 consented to the conduct of PFR activities under the project. Panchayati raj and rural development minister Ojing Tasing, who represents Boleng in the assembly, expressed gratitude to the signatories for their cooperation and trust, urging villagers to embrace development initiatives. He assured the govt’s commitment to inclusive growth and welfare of Siang’s people.Siang DC Tayi Taggu highlighted the benefits of the special developmental package envisaged for the district, including improved infrastructure, livelihood opportunities, and overall socio-economic progress. Former minister and SUMP Development Committee chairman Tamiyo Taga announced that each household would receive financial assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh under livelihood schemes.
