Tarn Taran: A married woman was shot in the neck by a man known to her before her marriage, leaving her critically injured. The accused fled the scene immediately after the attack.Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Surendra Lamba said the incident came to light late Friday evening. The victim, identified as Ruby, was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, while the accused, Karan — who was acquainted with her prior to her marriage — remains at large.According to reports, the accused entered Ruby’s house and went straight to her room where she was alone. He allegedly opened fire, hitting her in the neck. Hearing the gunshot and her cries, family members rushed to the room and found her lying in a pool of blood. She was immediately shifted to the local hospital for urgent medical care.Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Jagjit Singh, who was en route with a police team to conduct a raid to apprehend the accused, confirmed that the man was clearly identified and an intensive search operation was underway.SSP Lamba added that preliminary findings suggest Ruby married just two months ago, and the assailant knew her before her marriage.
