375 hectares earmarked for housing in Jhunsi & Hetapatti

Prayagraj: The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) has earmarked about 375 hectares of land in Jhunsi or Hetapatti areas for development of large-scale residential and commercial properties.According to officials of the civic body, around 250 hectares of land were identified in Jhunsi, covering the villages of Mukundpur, Chakia Hinauta and Chak Hinauta under the chief minister urban expansion scheme. For this, land will be acquired from over 500 cultivators. In Hetapatti, 125 hectares spread across Neemarmee Khurd, Narayanpur and another adjoining village were identified for acquisition. Vice-chairman of the civic body Rishiraj, who conducted site inspections on Thursday, apprised the farmers regarding the compensation structure. “The authority has intensified work to bring the urban expansion plan to the ground level. The project is expected to benefit the city by providing planned residential and commercial spaces to meet the growing demand,” he said. Officials said while a large number of cultivators have shown interest in cooperating with the authority some have raised concerns. Officials added that the reluctant farmers will be told about the benefits of the project. “Those who give their land will receive compensation at four times the prevailing circle rate,” said officials. The estimated investment for the two housing schemes will be Rs 2,500 crore. PDA secretary Ajit Singh and zonal officer Suraj Kumar Patel said land acquisition proceedings will be expedited with farmers’ cooperation.
