TIMS Sanathnagar to go fully digital with e-HMIS ahead of Ugadi launch

Hyderabad: With the inauguration of TIMS Sanathnagar around the corner, the Telangana govt is racing to ensure the 1,000-bed facility opens with fully digitised, patient-friendly systems in place.Health minister Damodar Raja Narsimha has directed officials to roll out a seamless electronic hospital management information system (e-HMIS) to ensure hassle-free services from OP registration to discharge. The fully integrated digital platform will link registration, consultation rooms, laboratories, pharmacies, operation theatres, wards, billing and discharge under a single system, enabling real-time coordination across departments. Each patient will be issued a unique hospital ID, under which consultations, diagnostic reports, prescriptions, treatment plans, surgeries and follow-ups will be digitally recorded. The system eliminates physical files, reduces duplication and loss of records, and stores data in compliance with central govt standards and security norms. Reviewing works at TIMS Sanathnagar, scheduled for inauguration on Ugadi, March 19, the minister ordered completion of pending civil works, equipment installation and trial runs by the second week of March to ensure services begin from day one. Officials said 16 operation theatres are ready, advanced diagnostic equipment, including CT, MRI and digital X-ray machines has been installed, and the cath lab is in the final stage. Organ transplant operation theatres are set for trial runs.
