The wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has received great relief, as the Sports Ministry has lifted the suspension on it with immediate effect. The decision has been taken after a long -running dispute in the federation, which has now cleared the way for domestic and international tournaments.
The WFI’s Sanjay Singh -led Executive Committee was accused of violating the Sports Code, which led to a suspension in December 2023. There was a dispute over the venue of the Under-15 and Under-20 National Championships by the federation, after which the government took action. Indian wrestlers faced many problems due to suspension.
However, after the federation has now taken corrective steps, the ministry has decided to remove it. This decision will provide relief to the wrestlers and wrestling competitions will be organized smoothly.
