Patna: A caterer was arrested in Muzaffarpur district on Thursday for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl when she had gone to attend a wedding ceremony at her maternal uncle’s neighbour’s house at a village on Tuesday night.Police said the girl, who lives with her uncle for her studies, was taken about 100 metres away from the wedding venue to a hut used for storing firewood, where the assault allegedly took place. Family members began searching for her after she went missing for nearly two hours during the function.
Locals later spotted her slippers outside the hut and, on checking inside, found her crying and bleeding. She narrated the incident to her family, following which villagers informed the police.SDPO Suchitra Kumari said the accused was sent to jail after questioning. A forensic science laboratory (FSL) team collected scientific samples and other evidence from the spot. The victim was admitted to a medical college hospital for treatment and medical examination, and her condition is stated to be stable.
