Class 8 girl kidnapped, gang-raped in Banda

Kanpur: A Class 8 student was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by three men, including one she knew, in Banda’s Atarra town.The 16-year-old girl alleged she was made to inhale an intoxicating substance and was taken to a hotel where she was sexually assaulted. The accused later fled after dumping her near a bridge in a semi-conscious state. Following a complaint by her family, police registered an FIR against the accused for gang rape along with charges under the SC-ST Act.

According to police, the main accused and survivor were familiar with each other. On Tuesday evening, the girl went to the market with her friend. While her friend was at another shop, she stopped near a cart on Banda Road. Three men on a motorcycle arrived, allegedly forced her to inhale something took her to a hotel on Station Road where they gang-raped her, said police.The girl alleged that when she protested, the accused abused and assaulted her. After the incident, the accused left her in a semi-conscious state near the Ken Canal bridge in the town and fled. Police said the girl reached home and narrated the incident to family members.Police said the three accused were taken into custody following a tip-off. The girl’s medical examination and other legal procedures were conducted. tnn
