Panaji: The under-secretary of the general administration department of Goa govt has complained to the Porvorim police that Rs 1.6 lakh and later Rs 32,000 belonging to govt were wrongly deposited into the account of a man in Madhya Pradesh. The accused withdrew most of the amount and refused to return it. Police have registered an FIR, but no arrests have been made.On Feb 18, the offence was registered on the complaint by Shreyas D’silva, under-secretary (GA-I), secretariat that on July 30 and 31 last year, an amount of Rs 1.6 lakh and Rs 32,895 was wrongly credited in the savings bank account belonging to Raju Bhuriya, a major in age and a resident of Madhya Pradesh.Of the amount, Rs 89,108 was withdrawn by the accused and he deliberately refused to repay the wrongly withdrawn govt money, committing criminal breach of trust and misappropriation.
