Three stabbed to death by relatives at wedding ceremony in Dhule district

Nashik: Three men were stabbed to death by their relatives during a wedding ceremony in Pimpalner village of Dhule’s Sakri taluka on Thursday, Dhule superintendent of police Shrikant Dhivre said. The incident occurred around 2.30pm when all relatives had gathered for the celebrations. The deceased have been identified as Suresh Gosavi (50), Devendra Pawar (36) and Sahil Gosavi (35), all residents of Sakri town.“There was a wedding celebration where the relatives had gathered. The accused allegedly started a quarrel with some of their relatives on some previous issue, which led to heated arguments. What followed was a violent attack by three who used sharp-edged weapons on anyone who confronted them. Three men died in the incident,” Dhivre said.Another senior officer from the Pimpalner police station said the accused fled the scene in a car after the incident. Local residents and relatives alerted the police and took the injured to a private hospital, where the three men were declared dead. The other two injured people were taken to GMCH in Dhule, where their condition is said to be serious.“During the primary investigation, we learnt that the accused were from Surat in Gujarat, and were fleeing to that state after the incident. We then took the help of the local residents in Otabari village, along the Maharashtra-Gujarat border, and asked them to help nab the culprits. The locals, therefore, obstructed the road. This caused a traffic jam, and the police were able to reach the suspects,” he said. The accused men are Kantilal Gosavi (42), Jaswant Gosavi (35) and the driver of the car. All three were detained, and the FIR is being registered against them, SP Dhivre said.
