Unidentified biker dies in Jagraon accident

Ludhiana: A motorcyclist died in a road accident on Akhara Bhammipura Road in Jagraon of Ludhiana district on Thursday. On receiving information about the incident, cops from Sadar police station reached the spot, took the body into custody and initiated an investigation.

The deceased has not yet been identified.Inspector Surjit Singh, SHO from Sadar Jagraon police station, said a passerby informed the police in the morning about a motorcyclist lying by the roadside. He added that when the police team reached the spot, the youth was found dead and no documents related to his identity were recovered from him during search.Police sources said preliminary probe indicated that the motorcyclist might have first been hit a stone on the roadside and then rammed into a tree, resulting in his death. They added that the police was enquiring about the deceased from nearby areas and were investigating the matter from various angles.Meanwhile, the policemen said that the body would be preserved for 72 hours to establish the identity of the deceased.
