260 remain absent on second day

Kanpur: As many as 260 students skipped the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad High School and Intermediate examinations on the second day on Thursday.According to the district inspector of schools, Santosh Rai, 112 students were absent during the morning shift. Out of the 3,055 students registered for the High School computer examination, 2,972 appeared for the exam while 83 remained absent. Similarly, 723 students had registered for commerce exam while 694 of them turned up to give the exam. During the second shift, the High School sewing paper recorded 99 students present out of 102 registered. In Intermediate section, 2,636 out of 2,781 registered candidates appeared for the civics paper, while 145 students were absent.

Officials said the examinations were conducted peacefully across the district.
