This recent event, held at Narada Gana Sabha to mark Padma Shri Dr Thiruvaarur Bakthavathsalam completing 60 years as a performing artiste, turned out to be an evening celebrating rhythm and legacy. The programme featured mangala isai by the Thirumeignanam Brothers — TKR Ayyappan and TKR Meenakshi Sundaram , and a presentation by students of Laya Madhuraa with vocalist Sikkil Gurucharan. Dignitaries like Dr Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti and Cleveland VV Sundaram were spotted at this event, which honoured senior vidwans — Trichy Sankaran , TV Gopalakrishnan, Umayalpuram Sivaraman , AV Anand and TK Murthy — adding to the celebratory spirit.
