Kanpur: A40-year-old saree businessman, Sanal Kapoor, attempted suicide by shooting himself at his home here late on Tuesday. Police said Kapoor is undergoing treatmen and his condition is stated to be crtitical. Kapoor lived on the third floor of an apartment in Aryanagar and ran a saree shop in Nayaganj. His wife and daughters were in another room when Kapoor took the extreme step. Family members rushed him to Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Hospital and later he was shifted to a private hospital. Kohna police station in-charge Prateek Singh said, “The bullet has passed through the head. A probe is on to determine the reason behind him taking the extreme step.” tnn
