IIT-Gn team develops hybrid electrode

Ahmedabad: A team from IIT Gandhinagar (IIT-Gn) developed a hybrid electrode using metal-organic frameworks, boron nitride and carbon nanotubes. The electrode delivered higher energy, mitigated corrosion, and enhanced stability and cycle life, researchers said, adding that these attributes can help explore the potential of specific materials for next-generation energy storage technologies. The study was recently published in the Journal of Energy Storage, with Prashant Dubey and Atul Bhargav as authors.“Its performance can be attributed to features such as the hybrid and interconnected porous structure and efficient transport of ions or charged particles within the device,” said Dubey.
