Connect with 60 voters each: BJP president to booth chiefs

Dibrugarh: BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday addressed a gathering of grassroots functionaries at Mancotta Field in Dibrugarh as the party stepped up preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, reports Rajib Dutta. The Pristha Pramukh Sanmilan, described by the party as an organisational initiative, drew over 22,000 booth-level workers from six legislative assembly constituencies in the district. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia were present.Nabin asked booth-level leaders to expand outreach, urging each booth chief to personally connect with at least 60 voters in their areas. Targeting Congress, Nabin said, “The policy of BJP is ‘Nation First, Party Next’, unlike Congress,” and added that BJP follows a policy of “zero corruption.” He alleged Congress lacks the “policy, intention, and capability” to govern and accused it of “vote bank politics.”“The Congress used Assam for vote bank politics. BJP has the policy, intent, and capability, and we are working with the people,” he said. He set a booth-wise performance target, directing workers to secure at least 50% of votes in every booth across the state, calling it a benchmark for victory and a key metric for a 3rd consecutive term.
