Hyderabad: Two friends were killed and three others injured after the SUV they were travelling in rammed an unidentified vehicle near Raikal in Shadnagar on Wednesday. The group was returning from a pilgrimage when the accident occurred. According to Shadnagar police, Purushotham Reddy (42) and Madhusudhan Reddy (43) were travelling with three others at the time. An unidentified vehicle ahead of them suddenly slowed down, and the SUV crashed into it from behind. According to the police, the unidentified vehicle is suspected to be a tipper. Purushotham and Madhusudhan died on the spot. Passersby alerted the police, who rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to a hospital. The injured are reported to be out of danger. “The five members went to Arunachalam temple in Tamil Nadu. The accident took place on their return journey. The victims are residents of Turkayamjal. Both the deceased are doing business,” Shadnagar police told TOI. A case of causing death by negligence has been registered and an investigation is underway. Officials said the front portion of the SUV was severely damaged in the collision. Efforts are on to trace the unidentified vehicle involved in the accident.
