Jaipur: Former cabinet minister in the Congress govt, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, Tuesday led a “cow protection” march in Vidyadhar Nagar, days after the alleged beheading of a calf on Feb 9 in Ashokpura locality.In the protest march led by Khachariyawas, participants demanded that CM Bhajan Lal Sharma and police act against those responsible for the beheading of the calf.
“If the govt tries to suppress this matter, then we will gherao the state assembly. The police are protecting criminals under pressure of the BJP govt. Now there will be cow protection marches in all assembly constituencies across the state,” said Khachariyawas. He added that effigies of the Rajasthan govt will be burnt at the marches. “This was the first time when the head of a calf was cut off and hung. There are videos of the incident. Why is the govt not taking any action?” Khachariyawas asked.
