Pune: The Ravet police on Sunday registered a case of causing death by negligence against a builder and a contractor after a daily-wage worker at their construction site died after falling from the 2nd floor.The accident happened on Feb 3, when the victim, Chandrakant Jadhav (36), of Mamurdi, who hailed from Gulbarga in Karnataka, was working on the 2nd floor, police said.

An officer from the Ravet police said that Jadhav was doing brickwork on the 2nd floor of an under-construction building at Ravet. “He lost his balance and fell. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment”, the officer said.He said that the victim’s wife stated in her complaint that the builder and contractor did not provide safety measures to the workers at the site. A case under Section 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered against the duo. “Our investigations are on,” he said.
