Independents take control of Bhainsa municipality

Hyderabad: The political landscape in Bhainsa municipality, located in Nirmal district, underwent an unexpected transformation. Breaking away from anticipated party alignments, independent candidates managed to seize control of the municipal chair, creating a stir in the state politics.Tumolla Dattatri, an independent candidate, was elected municipal chairman, while Bibi Kuthija Siddiqui, another independent, secured the vice chairperson position. What stands out in this election is the unusual support these independents received, including backing from six BJP candidates, seven independents, and one from Congress.Though the contest was initially expected to be dominated by major political parties, grassroots candidates came together to ensure the success of independents. Moreover, local MLA Ramarao Patel played a crucial role by casting his ex officio vote in favour of the independents, helping to solidify their victory.Municipal leadership is typically controlled by major political parties, but in Bhainsa, the independents secured victory. Interestingly, many of these independents are believed to be rebel candidates who had parted ways with the BJP.
