Times News Network Ludhiana: To pressure the family of a minor girl to withdraw a rape case lodged against his brother, a man allegedly circulated her morphed pictures and videos on a WhatsApp group. Police have registered a case against the accused under sections 67-B of the Information & Technology Act. The FIR has been lodged on the complaint of the 14-year-old survivor’s father. The complainant said the accused is the member of the WhatsApp group of their village. As per the police, on March 21, 2025, a case was filed against a man for raping a 14-year-old girl. The accused managed to escape. The complainant alleged that the brother of the accused had been threatening and pressurising them to withdraw the case. He had allegedly threatened them saying he would circulate morphed pictures and videos of the survivor. When the family did not agree to withdraw the case, he shared morphed pictures and videos of the minor on the whatsapp group of the village.
