Ghaziabad: A massive fire broke out at an auto parts factory in Sahibabad on Monday and spread to an adjacent oil factory before it was doused, an officer of the fire department said. No casualty was reported in the incident, he added. A total of 10 fire tenders were used to control the flames, fire officials said.According to the officer, the fire department received information about the fire that started at the Charan Autotech factory around 12pm. Chief fire officer Rahul Pal said fire tenders from the Sahibabad and Vaishali stations were rushed to the site. On reaching the location, officers found the fire had spread to the Bharat Oil Factory at Site-4. There were intense flames and thick black smoke coming from the engulfed factories, one of the officers said. “Considering the gravity of the situation, we called more fire tenders from the stations at Kotwali, Modinagar, Loni, Hapur and Gautam Budh Nagar. The tin shed of the Charan Autotech factory had collapsed, which caused severe damage to large quantities of auto parts. The front section of the factory was filled with large amounts of plastic, thermocol, and packaging material,” Pal said.“The fire could not do much damage to the Bharat Oil Factory as it was controlled in its initial stages,” the senior officer said.
