Bengaluru: Customs officials at Kempegowda International Airport arrested a young passenger and seized nearly 7kg of high-grade hydroponic ganja hidden inside cookie packets.Arun Thottesseri, 23, son of Rajesh Thottasseri, arrived from Bangkok on IndiGo flight 6E-1084. Sleuths noticed his suitcase during routine screening and found the ganja worth Rs 2.4 crore hidden in the cookie packets.Hydroponic ganja, a high-potency form of cannabis grown without soil, is increasingly becoming the target of narcotics enforcement agencies due to its elevated street value and demand. Customs officers believe traffickers exploit international passenger flights, particularly routes from Southeast Asian cities, to smuggle in narcotics into the country.Arun was arrested and booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
