Kanpur: A woman, claiming to be associated with the Samajwadi Party, and a resident of Mahewa town in Etawah filed an FIR against a former chowki in-charge, accusing him of stealing her car two months ago. Bakewar police station started an investigation against the sub-inspector, currently posted at Thathiya police station in Kannauj.Sarita Yadav, a resident of the Mandir Mahewa area and associated with the SP and Kisan Union, gave an application to the CO Bharthana stating that chowki in-charge Rakesh Patel, who was posted at Mahewa police chowki in 2018, was transferred to Kannauj in 2020 .The woman alleged that on the night of Dec 7, 2025, her car was parked on the Mahewa CHC premises and was missing when she came to get it in the morning. She said that CHC CCTV camera showed S-I Rakesh Patel was seen breaking the car window and taking it away.She then went to Bakewar police station but the police dismissed her complaint asking her to give an application at Mahewa chowki. She alleged that Rakesh even misbehaved with her.CO Bharthana directed Bakewar police station to register an FIR. SO Vipin Malik said, “An FIR was registered on the woman’s complaint. Further action will be taken after investigation in this matter.” tnn
