Annual day and sports meet showcase students’ talent, team spirit

Patna: Centred on the theme “The World We Make — Don Bosco’s call for a better tomorrow,” Don Bosco Academy (DBA) hosted its Annual Day at Bapu Sabhagar Auditorium. The event beautifully encapsulated the school’s five-decade commitment to value-based, holistic education.The programme was presided over by chief guest B Rajendra, additional chief secretary, education department, while guest of honour was Ignatius Topno, principal of St Xavier’s College of Education, Patna. The function was attended by DBA management, including director Alfred George De Rozario; founder and principal (Don Bosco Primary School) Dorothy Joy De Rozario; principal Mary Alphonsa; vice-principal Eric John De Rozario; bursar Michael Daniell, and administrative head Fiona Healey, along with educators, professors, and publishers.

Following ceremonial lighting of the lamp, students mesmerised the audience with a spectacular show of talent. Theme-inspired performances included Western and folk dances with colourful props and costumes, a dance drama, synchronised routines to lively music, a live choir, and captivating theatrical acts that highlighted imagination, discipline, and teamwork. Addressing the gathering, Rajendra commended the students for their achievements and stressed the importance of blending education with strong moral values to serve the nation responsibly.Annual Sports Day: Holy Mission Secondary School hosted the Annual Sports Day on its campus. The event was inaugurated by Atul Kumar, senior divisional personnel officer, ECR Danapur, who lit the ceremonial lamp. The school campus wore a festive look as students, parents, and teachers participated with full zeal. The programme opened with a melodious welcome song and prayer dance.Students took part in fun events such as the banana, biscuit, spoon-marble, sack and three-legged races, long jump, and 100 m and 200 m dashes. Karate demonstrations, pom-pom drills, pyramid formations, and house-wise tug-of-war showcased skill and teamwork, earning applause. Red House clinched the championship, while Yellow House became runner-up. Winners were awarded medals and certificates. Chairman Rajesh Kumar and principal Mukesh Kumar Srivastava addressed the gathering, highlighting sport’s role in building discipline, teamwork, and confidence.
