Over 2L devotees throng Bhuban Hills in Cachar

Silchar: More than two lakh devotees undertook the annual pilgrimage to the revered Bhuban Hills on Sunday to offer prayers at the 17th-century Shiva temple in Cachar district on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. The footfall is expected to cross five lakh by Monday, officials of the Bhuban tirtha mela committee said.Devotees from across the Barak Valley and other parts of the northeast gathered at the hill shrine, offering prayers to Lord Shiva and taking a holy dip in the sacred ‘kund’, located at the hilltop, as part of the rituals.
